Don't you just love when your kids say a word and it's just sounds so cute.....my favorite word right now of Marissa's is when she says "ticklish." However, it comes out like tick-a-lows. Those are moments to melt a mom's heart!!!!
The last three days have been such a fantastic break from the snow & cold of Minnesota winters! We've been taking advantage of being outside. Playing with Play-doh, blowing bubbles, riding bikes, going for walks, kicking the ball, playing with sidewalk chalk, sitting on the sit-n-spin....what a great feeling! Spring is coming! We can't wait!
Tony had a guys weekend at the cabin with his dad & brother so the girls decided to take Marissa & Meghan to the children's museum for a little outing. It was fun to watch them learn and plan together. Here's a few pictures I got in the midst of the action!
This was made at a recent brunch I attended so I thought I would share with you too! Super yummy!!!
Springtime Ham Sandwiches
2 Tbsp. butter - softened (or margarine spread) 1 tsp. garlic powder sprinkle of parsley 6 - 1" thick slices french bread OR english muffins 1 c. chopped Cure 81 ham 1 c. shredded Swiss cheese 1 c. Hellman's mayo 2 Tbsp. dry white wine 1/2 lb fresh asparagus, steamed 8-10 minutes (I cut in half before steaming to fit on the muffins)
Combine butter and garlic and spread on one side of the bread/muffin. Place on baking sheet and sprinkle with parsley. Broil 4" from heat source for 2 minutes or until lightly toasted. In a bowl, mix the ham, cheese, mayo and wine. Layer the bread/muffins with asparagus and then the ham mixture. Broil 2-4 minutes or until the cheese melts and the tops just get a little brown. I have made it with french bread and it is wonderful too, just a lot more cutting!
