Labor Day Weekend!

We've had another busy weekend enjoying these last few days of summer....sniff, sniff....we have such a fun summer together and made oodles and oodles of memories :)  Never again will there be a summer where I have a 2 year old and 5 year old!  I have cherished the days we've had together this summer!

Friday night, we met up with Grammy and ate at Joe's Crab Shack for dinner.  The kids love playing at the playground there and we love sitting outside enjoying the nice, warm evening not to mention the food is delicious!  We headed over to the mall for some school shopping and we were on a mission to find new tennis shoes.  Who would have ever thought it would be hard to find ones?   The search went on until 9:00pm....good thing Tony was able to take Brody home to bed and the girls were able to shop until we literally dropped.  A quick stop by Caribou on the way home and we were quick to bed that night!

Saturday morning, we headed down to meet my Dad and Jan for lunch.  We enjoyed seeing them again and Brody really liked seeing his Grandpa.  We headed to the Antique Car Show and Swap Meet.  That sure was an interesting sight.  After naps, Grammy came over to stay with the kids and Tony and I got to sneak away for a date night in Uptown.  We ate on the rooftop at Amore Victoria, our favorite Italian restaurant.  Watching the sunset, enjoying delicious food and conversation was the perfect ending to our day.

On Sunday, we did a little more shopping and then tried out a new local Mexican restaurant where Marissa enjoyed their slushy selection.  Then Grammy, Marissa and I headed on a long bike ride around the Coon Rapids Regional Dam Park.  We did a little exploring around the river.  It was a beautiful day to be outside.  We even got in a little playground time and DQ on the way home.  After Brody woke up, we headed over to The Lakes Beach in Blaine for some beach time.  The kids really enjoyed playing in the sand and water and we were the last ones to leave for the day.  It was so relaxing and fun!

Which brings us to today, Labor Day, the most dreaded day of the entire year.....the end of summer, back to reality tomorrow kind of day.  We spent the day at Bunker Beach.  I brought Brody back to nap while Tony and Marissa stayed at the waterpark.  We grilled out and then headed over to the park for a long walk and bike ride and some more park time.

It was such a fun, family weekend and I'm looking forward to this week.  It's going to be a memorable week in our household as Marissa heads off to Kindergarten!  Oh, and her first tooth to come out is hanging in there barely.....I have a feeling that she is going to get it out this week......or at least I hope so!  Stay tuned for more fun activities this week.....Hope everyone had a fun last weekend of summer too!
