Bunker Beach!

We got our season passes this week for Bunker Beach and we have been there every day since!  Marissa is loving being tall enough to go on all the water slides.  We enjoyed dinner on the patio and a little driving range time on Saturday night.  The little things that I love about summer are rides to the park after dinner, grilling & corn on the cob, pool time and the warm weather!  Here's a few pics from our week!

Summer is here....FINALLY!

We are getting into the swing of summer....picnics, parktime, bike rides and just enjoying the outside!

Marissa even got a sleepover with Emma in this week!  We waiting at the train station for Daddy and they were so excited when he finally got there!  They enjoyed lots of time outside playing and some yummy pizza!

Friday night after work, we went with Grammy for an evening out!  We had dinner outside on the patio at the Cheesecake Factory and then headed over to Centennial Lakes for some play time.  We even got to rent paddle boats and spend time on the lake!  Awesome, fun summer evening!

Saturday we headed out for a morning bike ride, some weekly chores, I got in a trip to the Mall of America for some shopping and we met up with the family for dinner at PF Changs and some park time!  Awesome day!

We celebrated Father's Day today with brunch with the Holgrimson family and some beach time in the afternoon!  Beautiful weather all day today FINALLY!

Weekend Parties!

We had another fab family weekend!  Although, we are still waiting for summer to arrive...come on mother nature, where is the warmth?  We are making the best of the days that are not raining!  Friday night we were invited over to the Johnson's for BBQ.  The kids had so much fun that we barely got home before 10:00PM.  We paid for that the next day...oops!

Saturday we headed to Joe's Crab Shack (Marissa's favorite) to celebrate her Kindergarten Graduation!  Thanks Grammy for a yummy lunch!  Marissa's favorite food is crab legs....anyone spoiled?  We made a quick stop at GAP and  Brody found this Superman shirt he just had to have.....his new favorite shirt:)

We got some outdoor projects done at home and then started a bonfire.  The kids of course loved roasting hot dogs and s'mores.  The night finished with a bike ride to the park!  Tony & I sat in front of the fire until after midnight enjoying the nice night and the quietness of a summer night!

Another busy week ahead!  Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Last Day of Kindergarten!

Just a few short hours ago, I dropped Marissa off for her last day of Kindergarten!  As I watched her walk into school, the tears started flowing.   For some reason, this feels like such a big day.  It's like FIRST GRADE is big kid stuff.  How could this year have flown by so quick?  Does every year go this fast?  Then my mind quickly turned to last night.  We were laying in her bed and I was listening to her read her new book that her teacher gave her for a gift.  She could read it...even the big words....I couldn't help but think, how does she know these words?  I'm enjoying the moment and then I look up at her shelf and I see that infamous picture....the picture that Grandpa took of her just a few hours after her birth.  She was all swaddled in her hospital blanket and her eyes hadn't opened yet.  I'll forever cherish that picture because it's exactly how I remember her newborn self.  Now I flash back to reality, laying with my 6 1/2 year old who is quickly growing tall, incredibly smart, gifted athlete, and loving big sister....I feel so lucky, blessed and loved by this girl who is growing up to be someone who I am so PROUD of.  I think of all the days when it was just me and her.  We had 3 1/2 years together of just us.  That is and was always be a special time in my life.  I am not sure I appreciated it when it was happening but I treasure those days.  When she walks off the bus tonight, she will be a 1st grader and yet another season of life will have begun.  So there is my rambling thoughts for today.  Someday when Marissa looks back at this blog, I hope she will know how incredible I think she is and I look forward to seeing what this next year will bring for her!

Bday Party, Track and Field Day, Airshow and the big KINDERGARTEN celebration!

I've got some catching up to do!  We've had a fun weekend and today we got to celebrate with Marissa at her Kindergarten celebration day!  More on that later!  First things first....Marissa had her first Track and Field Day at school on Friday.  Brody and I got to be spectators as we watched her dominate in all the activities!  This child does NOT get her athletic ability from me.  She truly is a natural athlete.  Her father tells me that she gets it from him....I'll let you be the judge of that.  It made this mama proud just seeing how great of a team player she is and how fun she was having!  Good job Marissa!

Friday was also my mom's birthday so we enjoyed a birthday dinner at our house.  They each made cards for her and we enjoyed just hanging out and catching up!  Happy Birthday, MAMA and Grammy!

Saturday morning, the kids went with Daddy to the Aviation Days.  They had so much fun getting to see not only airplanes but fire trucks, ambulances, helicopter, police cars and so much more!  Thanks Daddy for making it a special morning :)

Last but not least, today was Marissa's end of the year Kindergarten celebration.  She was in two "readers theatre" plays and she did amazing!  So proud of all she has learned this year!  Ms. Charboneau had put together a slideshow of pictures throughout the year.  That was a tear jerker.  They had such a great year together!  I'm looking forward to seeing what FIRST GRADE will be like but I can't quite believe that she is old enough to be that!  I love you Marissa and you are my shining star!  GOOD JOB!
