Last day of April.....

It's been 2 weeks since I've posted and really not a lot has changed.  We've done a few more house projects.  We painted the laundry room & master closet to freshen it up.  Those rooms were the last places that haven't been painted since we moved in.  We added one more piece of the closet and now the master closet is finally finished.  It feels good to be getting all these little projects done.  We've taken so many bags to donate to Goodwill.  Purging and organizing makes me so happy!

I've been dealing with a dental issue this past week that has had me out of service for a few days.  Tony did a great job holding down the household while I was not feeling well.  The kids have been going on bike rides and playing outside a lot.  It's been great seeing them thriving even among an unknown situation.

I also wanted to wish Tony a very Happy 41st!  When we can safely go back to the new "normal" we will celebrate even more!

Marissa did a great job helping her mama paint up high!

Marissa made her Daddy a cake for his birthday!

Checking out the ocean after it opened up.  It was a quick trip but worth it to feel a little bit normal again.

Marissa has been working on her braiding skills during the  time at home.

Easter 2020

Easter 2020 spent quarantine style!  We got a very yummy meal to go from Ruth Chris Steakhouse.  It was amazing not to have to cook!  The kids have been doing pretty well adapting to their new lifestyle.  They even got the garden sprinkler out and ran through it like I used to as a kid!  We were able to score some sidewalk chalk so they've been using that to keep our driveway decorated.  We did some flower planting in our front garden beds.  More of the same with cleaning and organizing projects.  We cleaned out the garage.  It always feels good to get more organized.  Mom is busy painting our laundry room today.  I got a new shoe cabinet to put up from IKEA delivered today.

We are finding things to keep us busy but it's really starting to be more difficult mentally as we want to plan and do things.  Here's a few pics from the week!

Week 4 of Quarantine Life

Not much new to discuss.....the weekend still always flies by.....looking forward to my 3 day weekend ahead!  I really want to get outside and plant in my garden beds but not sure if that's safe to do while social distancing.

Saturday included lots of organizing and cleaning.  It's good for my soul to get rid of things we don't use or need anymore and have order in the drawers and cabinets.  We had our palm trees trimmed and that gave us life again!  I love the beautiful tree again!  We played a couple games of croquet in the back yard.  Grammy won both games!  The kids made s'mores and had a sleepover on Saturday night in Marissa's room.

I'm trying to stay positive and look for the blessings and good things that have come out of time we are at home.

-Less fighting and more playing between my children
-The opportunity to get projects done without guilt
-Tony doesn't ask me "what's the plan" every weekend day
-Saving $$$ by cooking meals in and looking forward to our 1 meal out a week
-Our backyard is getting used every single day
-The opportunity to sleep in until 7:00AM
-Both kids cooking more and cleaning up the dishes
-Not having to drive downtown every day
-Seeing my kids and hubby a lot more!
-Both kids using their imaginations through art and play

Here's to hoping by every passing week we are getting closer to being able to get back to normal or the new normal we will experience someday!

Quarantine Blessings

A neighbor posted this saying today and it caused me to step back and realize how true it is.  Just a few months ago Tony and I were discussing how it would be nice to both be at home working full time again.  We had a year when we first moved to Florida that we were both at home and I look back and miss those days and wish we could do it again.  Although, I'm not happy of the circumstances that have us at home 24/7.  So I'm going to be switching my attitude to what blessings each day can bring despite having all the challenges of being home for at least another month.

As frustrating as all of this may be, take a moment and realize we will probably never again have the opportunity to spend this much time with our family and be able to directly have such a significant impact the lives of our children.  This will pass.  Our short attention span will return to old routines.  Work/school will go back to what it was before.  Take advantage of the time to enjoy the once in our lifetime experience (hopefully).
