5K Race

Tony & I set out to run a 5K race back in October and Saturday was the day we had been training for nearly 6 months.  We enjoyed participating in the race and are looking forward to running a race each month this summer!  Here's a pic after we were done!


  1. Congratulations on accomplishing your goal! I remember the feeling when I finished my first 5K a couple years ago. So fun!! What other races are you doing this summer?

  2. I think we will do the 5K at Grand Old' Days in St. Paul on June 5th. Have you done that one before? Then I want to do a 10K in August sometime. My friend & I are doing a half marathon in October in San Francisco if we get in. It's on a lottery system. YIKES. Scary to think about running that far! Any tips you have I would love to hear!!! Hope you are doing well!

  3. Hey! Good for you and your friend signing up for the half!! It is scary... I'll give you that. But it is seriously SUCH an amazing feeling to finish it. My goal for my half last summer was simply to finish it. I didn't care how I got to the finish line as long as I crossed it. I feel like I had reasonable goals (ie. I was ok with having to walk some of it) and the best thing I did was I set my pace from the very beginning. I didn't try and go fast and get caught up in the excitement. Keeping my pace (nice and slow!) worked wonders for me. I was able to spring across the finish line because I hadn't burned all my energy (but it was VERY close. ha ha). Keep me posted on your training and let me know if you ever want other advice... not that I'm a super runner because I'm not, but I like talking about it! :)
